NHS Grampian Charity has published its Annual Report & Accounts for 2025-26, highlighting the difference generous donations from supporters continue to make for patients, families, staff and communities across Grampian.

The charity awarded more than £7.3 million to support almost 500 projects and activities to enhance health and wellbeing across Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and Moray.

Thanks to the kindness of supporters like you, donations have helped fund projects which go above and beyond core NHS services to improve patient comfort and experience, enhance treatment and care, support advanced staff training and development opportunities, improve staff wellbeing, fund vital medical research, and support health and wellbeing in our hospitals and communities.

Highlights from the year included an ambitious £3.1 million funding package to support three transformational healthcare projects; the introduction of Scotland’s first interactive CPR training kiosk; significant six-figure support for the new SURE unit at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary; the provision of a new 3D scanner to aid breast cancer operations; and much more.

The charity also continued its support of patient activities, to help make hospitals less scary and make the experience more comfortable and enjoyable. In 2025-26 this included more than 300 fun activities for patient activities, from Halloween parties to Pancake Day celebrations, as well as 1,700 patients who spend the festive season in hospital receiving a gift to open on Christmas Day.

Every donation made to NHS Grampian Charity is used locally, helping to enhance the care, treatment and experience of patients in hospitals across Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and Moray, and improving the health and wellbeing of people in our communities.

Lisa Duthie, NHS Grampian Charity Lead, says, “We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has donated, fundraised, left a gift in their will, or supported NHS Grampian Charity in any way over the past year.

“Your generosity allows us to fund projects which make a real and lasting difference for people across Grampian. From innovative new approaches to patient care, to community projects and research into the health conditions affecting local people, every donation helps us create a healthier, happier Grampian.

“We are also incredibly grateful to all the NHS Grampian staff who go above and beyond every day to give their patients the best possible treatment and care. They are the driving force behind our work, and we are so proud to support them.”
