What is the Community Grants Programme?

The Community Grants Programme supports local charities and community organisations across the Grampian region to develop projects which improve access to health provision, enhance healthcare experiences, and empower individuals to better manage their own health.

Applications which are community based and initiatives which seek to address health inequalities are particularly welcome. The programme is also interested in supporting research which focuses on health inequalities, self-management, prevention and early intervention.

Since the launch of the Community Grants Programme in 2020, more than £700,000 has been allocated to almost 100 local projects. We are pleased to have been able to fund a diverse range of activities including those supporting individuals, families, people experiencing mental health challenges, people affected by chronic illness, carers, and people with disabilities. We look forward to continuing to support a diverse range of local organisations in 2024-25.

Who are we?

NHS Grampian Charity is the official charity of NHS Grampian, and safeguards donations made by patients, families and users of health services.

As the leading health charity for Grampian, the charity has strict criteria to make sure donations are only used to enhance the services that NHS Grampian provides, and not to replace statutory responsibilities.

Everything that NHS Grampian Charity supports must be for the benefit of patients or the health of the local community. Our patients are at the heart of everything we do.
